Located in a little strip mall of down town Farmington is a little gem of a place, Farmington Steak house. I've been coming to this restaurant off and on since I was young. There's a nostalgia with coming here for me, it's not the best steak you can get in the world but for the price you get a good meal from friendly folks who know their regulars and their lives. It's very hometown feel, almost like a home cook meal; potato, toast, steak and a salad. Grab a tray, place your order by the time you pay the steak is done. It's an enjoyable meal.

The restaurant is a local gem. Staff and owners are kind, efficient, straightforward and knowledgeable. Food very good, budget friendly, steaks cooked perfectly. Ordered homemade chicken noodle soup ( overcooked noodles) The restaurant hasn't been updated in years.. which I like. Yet, spend some money on cleaning properly.

The food is delicious, ignore any reviews otherwise. Your best approach is save your opinions. Just keep coming back often. Truly here is a best kept little secret of Farmington. Yes wait for it watch for it experience it get it in your mind just how hard the staff here work for you. Keep coming back until you fall in love with how it works here. And it works. Ambience can be summed up in a popular phrase used recently by a local professor, "Everything old is new again". You will be amazed at how cozy, homey, back home again you will feel here. Thank you Farmington Steak House. Your regular customers show thanks by coming back again and again. Oh you betcha.

The food here is so good!! Yes it is a hole in the wall and the decor has not been updated in decades, that is part of its charm!! The Texas toast is also great!! Only takes cash!!

While my husband, son and I were in Farmington for Christmas photos, we decided to stop my Farmington Steak House for lunch -- I had seen so many reviews and I knew we needed to go. Here are a few of my thoughts that may help someone else who goes for the first time: 1. They seem to have people coming in constantly -- that's a good sign, but there still isn't much of a wait for food so don't be intimidated if there are 8-10 people in front of you. BUT we were there at 2:30-3pm so I really don't know how busy it would be at actual lunch time. 2. Never being here before, we were confused and had a somewhat clusterf*+k at the beginning. So when you walk in, you go up to the counter by the window, someone will come take your order (the menu is right up on the wall.). Then you grab your tray, your silverware, soup or salad, etc (they have a few condiments on the counter.). Heads up, they don't have ranch dressing. Then you pay right there and get your cup if you want a drink (free refills.). 3. You really cannot beat these prices!! You get so much quality food for so little. I got the gyro meal (it also comes with a soup or salad.). I had assumed it came with fries so next time I would ask for those, but the baked potato was very good nonetheless. My husband got the 10oz ribeye meal (it came with two pieces of Texas toast, baked potato and a salad.). We each got a drink as well and our total was $32. 4. You seat yourself and get your own refills, your own to go box(es). Someone does come pick up your table after you leave, but the rest you do yourself. 5. The decor makes you feel like you stepped into a different era and I LOVED it!!! The soft Christmas music over the speakers, the coziness of the space with the lighting made me so happy. All-in-all, I can't wait to go back! My husband and I really enjoyed their food and atmosphere. Plus, who I am assuming is the owner, was so sweet and really did try to be helpful in showing us how the ordering process worked -- next time should be a much smoother process.

One of the most outstanding family run restaurants in the South suburbs! You definitely get more bang for your buck. Great food, awesome wholesome atmosphere, and an amazing staff who treat you just like family!

Five stars is reserved for Many's steak house. The meat at this place and everything else it's close to three stars but I'll give it for because it's very affordable and one meal can feed two -four people (sirloin). The place was relatively clean and very busy with people from many nationalities eating here. Easy parking on Main Street and I believe that is one behind the place. People speaking Greek at the front desk just like the movie my big fat Greek wedding. It seems the place has been remodeled. I finished all my food because I haven't eaten meat in a long time. I ordered the ribeye. It was of decent quality. I asked for a medium but I regret it I wish I asked what it rare because I do eat meat that I get from the meat butcher place in Robbinsdale Minnesota. I finished everything on my plate because the bread was perfectly done and the potato was really decent I ate the whole thing I did not even leave the skin. Mostly families around me and some children running around us behind me here in there and nobody seem to be annoyed by it.

An institution! Established decades ago by a Greek-American couple looking to make their mark. And they did. Though the Husband no longer is with us, the Wife and their two daughters carry on the legacy of Farmington Steak House. I enjoy the format of ordering from the counter, waiting with a tray for your steak to sizzle to perfection, and sit down to a delightful and abundant meal. I wish there were more steakhouses still left like it--the kind I grew up with such as Ponderosa and Bonanza. The sirloin was tender and juicy with a hint of Greek flavor. The baked potato was love wrapped in brown russett skin. The Texas toast provides that extra jolt of garlic. And the side salad was just to pretend my meal was healthy. All this is included in a platter. For an extra treat, I tried the Baklava, which was sticky and full of nutty, sweet flavor. Daily specials await you during the week. You cannot find a heartier portion for the price anymore--$6 or so for a burger or $13.50 for a 12 oz. sirloin. The inside could use a refresh but it is fun to walk into a time capsule sometimes. Feels like small town Americana. You won't come away hungry. Just don't check your cholesterol for a few days. PS-the steak is better than the fish.
